Streets Alive Atlanta! What a great event for families with young children and friends to bike ride, walk, eat, and participate in fun activities like yoga and tug of war in the streets of Atlanta. Atlanta Streets Alive opens the streets for people to participate in activities by closing the streets to cars. Streets Alive occurs four times a year in three areas of Atlanta: 1.) Peachtree Street, from Downtown to Midtown 2.) Historic West end connecting 7 neighborhoods via Ralph David Abernathy and Georgia Ave 3.) North Highland, Highland Ave, and Boulevard.
On Sunday, September 25th we participated in our fifth Streets Alive. Here we are taking a break from bike riding to grab ice cream from Queen of Cream on N. Highland. The final Streets Alive for 2016 is Sunday October 23rd.
On Monday, September 26, Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour came to Atlanta for a second time. This provided me the pleasure of attending both shows. During the May show, I stood in the Bey Hive pit. For Monday’s concert, I purchased a VIP package which included: a private pre-concert reception with unlimited food and two free beverage cards https://youtu.be/yp1s75Ykfwc, a Formation World Tour bag with a VIP lanyard, sun glasses, rain gear, and one premium seat. As you can see from my Instagram images my seat was front row, center of the Bey stage.
The concert was incredible and Queen Bey delivered! Beyoncé kept us on our feet dancing, and she showed fans a lot of love by touching hands, thanking fans for their continued support, and taking towels from fans then throwing them back into the crowd. Beyoncé took us back with hits like Survivor, Ring the Alarm, Countdown, and Halo. The dancing, energy, band, and creative visuals were dynamic, I’ve never seen ANYTHING like it. The beautiful and brilliant artist left Atlanta fans mesmerized for the second time.
On Saturday, September 24th, I had the pleasure of taking my two children to view the 21 images of ‘Where Children Sleep Around the World’ taken by photographer James Mollison. The images are extraordinary and capture the various levels of disparity around the world. This was an eye opening experience for my 6 and 8 year old to envision the circumstances and conditions in which children around the world sleep, often beyond their control.
The Mrs. Carter Show Tour (2013), On the Run Tour (2014), The Formation Tour (May 2016).
On Monday September 26th I will attend my 4th Beyonce concert. As the anticipation rises for the concert, the question that brings anxiety to concert goers is, “What am I going to wear?” We all want to slay and increasing the pressure are the internet image searches offering suggestions on what we should be wearing to a Beyonce concert. Two factors that drive my decision on what I will wear to the Beyonce concert are:
1. Will I be comfortable enough to really dance ?
2. Will I be able to walk comfortably before and after the concert?
On Friday September 2nd, Matty B & Friends took Center stage in Atlanta. Matty B is a 13 year old rap artist from Suwanee, Georgia that has over 6 million you tube subscribers including my eight year old daughter Sage. I surprised Sage with VIP concert tickets to the September 2nd Matty B & Friends concert.
The VIP experience came with a price tag of $90 per ticket which included our front row seat, a meet and greet and photo with Matty B’s friends the Haschak sisters, the Adee sisters, Ivy and Justin, an autographed photo of Matty B, Matty B wrist band, a meet and greet with Matty B, and a picture with Matty B taken by a professional photographer.
The Matty B concert was my first kids concert and my daughters first concert. Both Sage and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and we can’t stop talking about our experience as we didn’t want the concert to end. The musicians had good energy, variety of highly talented guest artist, great video projections, clean language, and very appropriate yet stylish attire. I will definitely take my daughter to future shows. Matty B and friends have a 40 year old fan here!
