On Saturday, October 29th started as a day I planned to be a volunteer model to help a friend for her final exam in makeup artistry, but little did I know Saturday would turn into a fun filled day of watching and learning some of the best makeup techniques. The excitement took place at the renowned Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy, which offers make up classes such as: Basic Principles in Makeup Artistry, Just Eyes, The Everyday Woman, Bridal, Airbrushing and many more. I had the pleasure of having my makeup done by my friend and newly graduated makeup artist Bayo, who styled me in one of her custom signature pieces from her BayoKemistry clothing line. The makeup skills she obtained in just two short weeks was absolutely remarkable. Ms. Gwynnis offered top notch customer service to the graduate makeup artists and models and made the day even more enjoyable. I am personally looking forward to taking a makeup class in the very near future!

Today we say goodbye to summer. Farewell crop tops and denim minis, bright nails and floral pastels. I gladly say goodbye to the crop. No more strange looks of fear from my kids and hearing the words ‘ewwww mom, people are going to see your tummy.’ I purchased two crops in the summer of 2016. Both found on clearance by searching bustier at hm.com. Priced at $12.99 and $14.99. I paired the crops with the matching skirts.
Do you have trouble finding a nail color? Or do you select what you think is a fab color just to find during the application process that this color is ALL WRONG? That uncertainty ends now, since the beautiful and talented “Kerry Washington” (2016 Creative Ambassador for OPI) launched the OPI Washington, D.C. Collection, 15 brilliant colors which offer a range of colors from ‘Pale to the Chief’ (light) to ‘Shh….It’s top secret’ (dark).
As I walked into the nail salon yesterday for a quick pedicure, I noticed Kerry Washington’s OPI Washington, D.C. collection on display. I selected the color ‘Never a Dulles moment’ which is a striking color to transition from summer to fall. I am in love with Kerry Washington’s fall/winter OPI nail colors and with every visit to my nail salon, I look forward to making it through all 15 amazing shades throughout the new season.
Dark circles be gone! I must share with you my favorite cover-up for dark circles. The studio Conceal & Correct Duo by M.A.C using conceal & correct duo is now a part of my daily routine. Looking back at years of using powder, on top of foundation, on top of concealer and still seeing darkness is now over. Priced at $26.
When I shopped in department stores and boutiques with my mom as a child, I loved to find a good deal, and into my adult years I try to never pay full price. These are a couple great deals I want to share:
Last summer I purchased the amazing Nappa Leather gladiator by Stuart Weitzman. This summer I began the hunt for another gladiator just as versatile. I stopped in my tracks when I saw an image of the Stuart Weitzman Aphrodite gladiator. As I search the Aphrodite gladiator, it appeared to have sold out everywhere.
The Aphrodite gladiator has an extraordinary lattice detail which is so eye-catching and comes with a price tag of $510. I could not give up on finding the Aphrodite gladiator, as I closely examined the links the google search, I saw an image on the far right of my screen from Neiman Marcus. There it was, the Stuart Weitzman snake-embossed Aphrodite gladiator on clearance at Neiman Marcus for a total of $148 including tax, free shipping to the store, and the additional 20% off coupon code found on retail me not. This summer you will see me wearing the Stuart Weitzman Aphrodite gladiators with a romper, dress, skirt, and jean shorts, so clever and well designed. Love at first sight!
Wedges are my go to with jeans and being overdue for a new pair was perfect timing for the mid-July sale at nordstromrack.com. My deal of the day was finding the Nine West Lara Platform Wedge for $11. These wedges are extremely comfortable and a shoe I always pack in my travel bag.
